A Kempton Gunmakers Fair Thank You
« on: August 25, 2022, 08:09:46 PM »
Hello folks. Brett Davis/Bonnie54 here. I would like to extend a humble and sincere thank you to all of the ALR members who participated at this year's Kempton Gunmakers Faire. The wonderful demonstrations and the excellent seminars truly made this years Faire extraordinary. It really provided first time and seasoned gun builders with a great program. From making thimbles, wrist and lock shaping, stock finishing, barrel rifling, carving, tool sharpening, bag making, gun history and origins, forging barrels, inletting mistakes and how to fix them, wire inlay and so many more. I am truly in your debt and greatful for continuing the traditions of gun building. I will be looking forward to next years program as I will be in touch with many of you soon!  Thank you so much and God Bless.
Brett Davis

From the pictures I have seen, it looked to be a wonderful event and people had shared what a great experience it was. I hope one day to be able to attend. Thank you for providing such a great event!

Hi Brett and Bonnie,
You guys did a great job organizing and running the fair.  It is clear, Brett, that it was a major success and will continue, hopefully for a long time.  As you well know, the original Dixon fair idea was to promote knowledge and gun making skills.  You are continuing that mission and I for one will be there helping and teaching for as long as I physically can.  Congrats on your fowler and Bonnie's rifle. You guys absolutely deserved those awards.

What Dave said…, thanks very much for taking on this task, and keeping this Fair alive.  I know there’s an incredible amount of work that goes into something like this that we’ll never see, so thank you!  Best,

Brett, it was a nice event for sure.  It was obvious that a lot of planning went into something of this magnitude.  Congratulations on a job well done by all the coordinators!

I will second this, as well. It was my first visit to the mysterious East, a chance to consult with my fellow wizards. A special thank you to Allen Martin, who encouraged me to attend, and endured my endless questions.
