Wrought brass trigger guard?

It appears to me that the trigger guard and possibly the butt plate of this rifle are wrought brass rather than castings.

Are they? How common was wrought brass and when and where was it prevalent?

Many European pistol triggerguards are three pieces of brass riveted and brazed together.  How common this may have been for rifle guards is an entirely different matter but perhaps someone here will be along in a bit to offer a good insight into a little shorty American piece.

I have seen many American buttplates that show clear proof of being swaged or formed, European not so much.

The jury is still out on whether this one is American but the guard on this one is made from 7 pieces of flat brass stock. All of the mounts on this one are
made from sheet brass. You can see more of it in Shumways RCA volume 1. Gun #15.
Whoever did this one was really good at his craft.
