Tacked Knife Sheath

(1/1)

Poor Bull:
I am excited about my recent success with using brass tacks.  I've ruined a lot of tacks and leather attempting to make a knife sheath.  The trick was to heat the point red hot with a propane torch while holding the head with pliers.  After cooling, the nail can be easily bent over and the point hammered back into the leather.

LRB:
You might find it even easier using the original type all solid brass tacks.

Brian Jordan:
That is a nice looking sheath, glad you got it figured out.
