I never had any problems with my RCBS, I have used it extensively for years just like it came out of the box. I retired my little Lee dipper when I got the RCBS, the Lee dipper just wasn't big enough and cooled off too quickly during a pour.

Daryl,
You are correct about the lack of frosting with pure lead! It is only the bullets containing antimony that will produce the frosting at high temperatures. I confess to ever now and again wandering "off the reservation"  and shooting other than pure lead. From time to time my memory wanders like my shooting!

NP J.B.  As to frosted balls, I cranked up the lead pot yesterday, the one with pure lead (I thought) & the first 2 balls came out like WW bullets, all frosted. ::)
I had to pour that melt into a can and start over again with pure lead- 20 pounds of it. Somehow, I got antimony into my pure lead pot and ruined about 8 pounds of pure lead.
Well, not ruined as it will work in the 1876 rifle. ::)
After casting 50 balls for the .69, I stopped. That used up 3.44 pounds of lead. (mathematically figured with a pocket brain)
