Lehigh rifle
« on: October 13, 2022, 11:42:26 PM »
It was recently brought to my attention that I had never posted pictures of this gun finished, so here they are, already with a couple of dings to the carving.
Hope you like it.
Thanks, Jeff

Lots to like there! Carving really pops and the flow of it is excellent too.

Good looking rifle Jeff. I recently did one of the wrap around nose caps and it was quite a chore to get right. You have done a right nice job on yours. Thanks for sharing with us.

That's some real nice work.  Wonderful & crisp carving.  I was wondering where that build got to after seeing your initial carving pics here.  Great job!

You’re right, definitely is a bit of a chore Jim.  Not a task I look forward to.

Many thanks,
Jeff

Nice looking rifle, and very well done!

But I'm curious, why the chunk of wood, instead of a flint?

JTR, I actually need to finish polishing and coloring the lock, and the block of wood is just there til completed.  No real reason… :D

Thanks again for all the comments,

Great rifle Jeff. All that rifle needs is some field time and some range time and it will be perfect. It's amazing what a little handling and use will do to give a rifle that just right look. Well done.
