Washington's rifle?
« on: October 26, 2022, 01:18:10 AM »
No, not the Beck rifle that was gifted to the real George.  I'm looking for the rifle used in the Fox-TV mini-series "Legends and Lies".  Anyone here know anything about that one.

This would be in the episode "Washington- forged in Battle". About 15-20 minutes into the episode. The two were having an informal shooting session while 'John Adams' is trying to convince 'Washington' to help create the constitution.  I've been watching the series off and on when I can, and that's the only rifle that has stood out for me in the whole series so far.  I 'don't think' it was supposed to be the Beck rifle, since this event would have happened 10 years or so before Beck created that rifle.

It may have been covered here before, but my search skills aren't turning up anything...

if this should be somewhere else, my apologies, and mods please move to help get any info.

Thanks

It more than likely has nothing to do with what you are referring to however there is or was a early American Longrifle at the Frazier Museum in Louisville Ky as being owned by George Washington!

hmmm... not sure a true antique rifle 'owned by George Washington' would have been used in the filming of a cable-TV miniseries?

The rifle at the Frazier is the Beck that was supposedly gifted to Washington.

Hmm... have no idea how the mentions of the 'Frazier Museum' came up.  I was asking about a made-for-cable TV show.  It was produced and narrated by Kelsey Grammar, who once played a character on a TV show called "Frazier".

Dan, you are probably not far off the mark.
