Banded Horn/Pewter Tip
« on: November 06, 2009, 07:03:22 PM »
This horn Is about 11" around the outside curve.  The base is Cherry colored with oven cleaner, is about 2" across and is held in with 4 steel pins that are hidden under the first band. It has four turned horn bands that were boiled in a dye bath and pressed on then two steel pins were put in each. The tip is pewter, it is about 1 3/4 X 3/4"and is pinned to the neck with a steel pin. The body was treated with AF.

Tim is the pewter tip threaded or pinned to the horn. Neat looking horn.

It is pinned. I should have said that in the post, I will add that. Thanks

Tim, is very nice.  I especially like the idea for pewter for the tip. And the coloring is complimentary.  Great job again.
