Kibler colonial longrifle carving

A German friend of mine is making a colonial flintlock together from a Kibler's kit, his friend is providing the carving on this gun

I made a mistake in the description of the gun, it's a Colonial from Kibler

This is amazing. Can't imagine to ever reach this level myself.
May I ask if this friend of yours is a member here? I ask because I live in Germany and am actually finishing a jaeger rifle kit and wonder if I try carving by myself of if I should involve someone with way more talent than me..

The carving is so sharp and clean I'm wondering if he used the stab in method for the outline work.  :-\

Yes it is - incised coupled with relief carving, making the height necessary for the 'flavour' without being too high in actuality.
