Horn In The "White"
« on: November 22, 2022, 04:47:07 PM »
This one was left natural it is going to be carved by another hand. It's a Big horn at 20 1/2" around the outsid curve and 15 tip-to-tip, lot of room for carving. The butt is Apple held in by the same steel pins that hold the base band on, it is 3" in diameter and hollowed out about 3/4ths its length. The tip is 2 pieces of Whitetail antler pinned together with 3 wooden pegs, it is a screw tip threaded 5/8-11. The ring at the neck is for the strap, it is held by 3 Steel pins. For a large horn it is suprizingly light.

Nice looking horn. That might be one " Hungry " horn taking lots of powder to fill it up.

Tim,
As always, a very nice job.
Sorry, it's not a style that I particularily care for, but regardless, your talent is just dripping off of it.
It looks like there is enough room on that horn to inscribe the first three chapters of "War and Peace".
Keep it up, you do really, really nice work.

Nice horn.  the spout work really accents the double curve of the horn.
