I have been seeing the awesome looking net bags but has anyone made a squirrel carrier? The ones I've seen are strand of leather with some kind of tie or something on the end so you can hang a squirrel or rabbit from your belt. If so I'd like to see it for some ideas.

I think "The Leatherman" makes one such as you describe.

A thong with a loop or ring on the end would work. Multiple of them, would 'carry' multiple animals or a variety of species.
Pull the thong through the loop making a noose and hang 'em - high or low.

In looking at these, they wouldn't even need the ring, as they already have the method of a noose.

That's what I was looking at . Looks like the ring just hold it open. Not really necessary.
