That is amazing work. I wish you had a picture of the inside of the lock mortise.
Were you able (or try really hard) to blend that in to match the rest of the gun? How did it turn out? Did you go to the extent of trying to actually age (rot) the wood or just stain/paint/etc?
That is fantastic - Saving a beautiful gun like that with that quality of work should never be something to "cover up" by any seller - although I know many do - sigh. The hours and skill to do that restoration would (or should not) be cheap in dollar amounts anyway.
