I'm not sure, an inverted, incised or cut in leaf. That's new to me and just beautifully executed. And here I thought I was the only one who cut on the wrong side of the line. Fantastic. Thank you. Bob

Will like to see it when finished. It is quite nice.

Hey thanks everybody! This is one of a group of rifles I have in the works. Building them together has been a great way to explore variations on similar themes. None of them are representative of a particular school.

Ian,

When you have completed the rifle would share with all; the type & manufacture of the stain and finish used, including the processes for each.

Best Regards,

Robert

That would be difficult. It's a daily process that lasts for weeks or longer. Stained it this afternoon with aquafortis made from 1 part 68% nitric acid, 3 parts water and mild steel filings. Tomorrow all $#*! breaks loose. I don't do finishes the way most do.

I have to look at it a few times to take it all in and I'm not sure I have. We're only seeing maybe 1/3rd of it, can't imagine what the rest of it looks like.

   Tim

Actually this is the whole thing. It's a concealed carry longrifle. Fits comfortably down in your waistband (if you wear pants 6 sizes bigger than you normally would) and is barely visible as long as you stand inside a refrigerator box

Really just things that appeal to me that I see in traditional carving (longrifle and otherwise) that I feel I can learn from and work with. For a while now I have been a lot more focused on trying to develop something personal than to make new ideas fit into a particular school.

Well I am certainly humbled or intimidated. Like going to Don Kings shop years ago and looking at his engraving. Enough to make a person give up.
Thats just outstanding…. Almost any comment would be faint praise.
