The tail parts of the carving are good but I would carve  more details in the sides of the larger, plainer carving. Shown below is the tang  carving on one of my BCs. That tang  has a nice and accurate inlet.....but the end should have a small gap to avoid cracking the stock......Fred

Yip, I’m working on the same thing on a rifle right now. It’s my second attempt at carving and it is a big challenge for me. What you’ve got looks pretty good to me. Keep at it. It’s tough sometimes because there are so many guys on here that make it look easy.

   Only reason they make it look easy is because they have done it a bunch of times. Nobody is an expert at anything the first time they do it. All it takes to do really good work is practice. Do it enough and you will get as good at it as anyone else.
