A Couple of Painted Horns
« on: February 21, 2023, 12:21:48 AM »
The top one first Pic is about 16" around the out side curve and 12 1/2 tip-to-tip, the bottom one is about 15 1/2" around the out side curve and 1 2 1/2 tip-to-tip. Both butts are Walnut and hollowed out about 3/4s their length, they are about 2 1/4" in diameter. The tips are two part Whitetail anther pinned together with 3 wooden pegs and to the horns with 3 more, The bands were heated, pressed on and secured with 3 steel pins each. The color is "Sea Green" milk paint followed by Brown shoe polish. I wanted them to be similar but not twins.

Tim, the sea foam green has to be my favorite painted horns and that one has a wicked good curve to it.
