Hillbilly clan raiders overcome local gun shop.
« on: February 28, 2023, 08:57:04 PM »
A little while back I had started a project for a buddy who lives on the other side of Stoner Creek. The work had started slowly but at a workmanlike pace. Sometime here a short time ago I was surprised so see strangers on the property. They were clad in only bib overalls and ragged tee shirts (no shoes). Wouldn’t you know this bunch busted through the door, shoved me back in the corner and went to hacking away at my rifle project. I tried to stop them but they were determined and fowl smelling so I just went back to my corner.
They even put some different ramrod in it. Kept calling it “Sparkle Berry”.
Look what that bunch did to my gun project!?!? I hope that my buddy from across the Creek is okay with it…..

Well, y’all there it is. Now, can somebody please help me find my shoes???

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I really like this rifle. It reminds me of a rifle that the owner added the carving and the little inlays made from what they had at hand, during down time. Thanks for sharing...

That's what happens when you hang around with men of ill repute.Back when I was shooting BPCR at Ralph Marcum's the rule was you had to  be a man of ill repute with a rifle of at least 40 caliber and the women had to be "Soiled doves or ladies of the evening"to be allowed on the range.Fine doings and the local eatery could stop up any arteries that were not already plugged. My favorite was steak and eggs and fried potatoes.Ralph Marcum and Opal's restaraunt made the 160 mile drive well worth the effort.

Cool gun, Wayne!  Lots of little details all over the place that makes for a very “fun” gun!  Best,

They must have known what they were doing. Especially if that’s what they came up with through their hacking.

Well it is different I'll give you that. Not really my cup of tea (or bourbon) but that is exactly what makes this passion of all of ours so great. There are more schools of architecture than you can count, not to mention variations of them. What really matters in the end is that the builder and new owner love what has been created.

Different, but I like it! Kinda like the difference between a really smooth12 year old single malt and the clear stuff them boys in eastern Oklahoma turn out; both have their own uniqueness and appeal.

Loks like you were copying an original night rifle.  One that would only be used to poach ugly deer at night when no one else would see it.
