March Postal Match
« on: March 02, 2023, 06:11:44 PM »
For March, let’s try another “varmint” target. Go to the following link and scroll down to the crow target:
https://targets4free.com/category/hunting-targets/
Twenty-five (25) yards any position and half-ball rule. One (1) shot per bullseye for a total of 5 per target. Submit as many targets as you wish.
Let’s score it as follows: The three (3) small bullseyes with the 10 in the center, will be scored 10, 9, and 8 accordingly. The large bullseye on the crow’s body will be scored as the rings are marked. The small bullseye on the crow’s head with the white dot is hard to see and is small. Let’s score a shot that removes the white dot as 15 points with next two rings scored as 10 and 9 respectively. Therefore, the maximum score possible is 55. Any ties will be broken by your second-best score.
If your eyes are as old as mine, I suggest you use a moveable spotter that you can readily see to guide your aiming. Let’s have some fun this month and do some shooting! If you have difficulties with getting the target, send me a PM and I'll try to get you a PDF of the target.

That is a fun target. Unfortunately, I won' be able to shoot anything for a couple of months. Left wing in a sling.

I printed a few off and hope to give it a try since its slowly turning towards spring here. I have a feeling the first attempt or two will be too embarrassing to share since I have hardly shot since October.  ;D

Hope you have a quick and easy recovery alacran.

Daryl - yes that's the target. Hope you boys up north will pound it! Half-ball rule.
Seth - Go for it! It's all in fun!
Alacran - maybe you can get someone to load for you! Just kidding. You just concentrate on getting that "wing" healed up! We know how you can shoot!

I've twisted Marcruger's (Marc) arm to shoot this month. Guy's, fair warning, Marc can be tough. I've shot with him! I hope that other folks will weigh in this month. It's fun and we would love to hear from you!

I repeat my suggestion - consider using a spotter. It will help "older eyes".

petejc,
All of the guidelines (distance, scoring, etc.) are spelled out in the first post above.. After shooting a target(s) that you wish to submit, make a picture or scan that enables scoring and post it (or them) right here in this thread. If you have any questions, we'll try to get them sorted out for you. Looking forward to seeing you post the results. Have fun and be safe - that's what is't all about!

I am not computer savvy so never shoot these as I don't have targets.
Targets we could make would be OK, LOL!
Still enjoy seeing the results.

You can order some. They are available from several sellers if you search "Sears Crow Targets":

MJBush,
I am probably the least qualified to give instructions on things computer, but here goes.
1. Take a picture of the target such that the target makes up the bulk of the image. Upload the picture to your computer. (See grandson).
2. Click on the reply button to this message. Type in your message. You will see a note  below the message box to "Add image to post".
3. Click on that line and follow the direction to add the image (see grandson). When you click  on "Add image to post" you will be directed to 'drag, drop' or paste the image or browse from your computer. Once you have selected the picture click the green  'upload'
button.
Moderators: I have most likely made a hash of helping MJBush. Could one of you please help him? Thanks.
J.B.

Thank you, Maybe between my wife and we can do this. I understand some of what you are saying.
I will print some targets today. We plan on shooting Sunday. Weather forecast again rain, windy, and something new…thunder storms for Sunday.
