N. Whitmore halfstock (pic heavy)

Got this  little halfstock at the Tulsa show this past Saturday. The barrel is stamped "N. Whitmore Cast Steel". The barrel has been lined and is now .40, 1 in 48" twist. Barrel length is 31.25" Stock is walnut with an ivory nosecap. The rear sight is a replacement. The front sight was missing and now has a temporary replacement I put on it. There are obvious old repairs including what appears to be plastic wood around the lock inlet. The hammer spur also appears to be welded/repaired and reshaped. The cross hatching on the spur is not up to the engraving standards of the rest of the rifle.
There are two holes in the top of the wrist where a tang sight was once mounted. The lock is in excellent condition and is super clean inside. Everything functions perfectly. The rifle's faults took it from a collector gun to a shooter, perfect for me.
I'm wondering if this could have been made by Nathaniel Whitmore in Mass.?  Haven't been able to find any pics of his guns.
