old topic... gun in the ALR banner?

I know I have seen it before, but is there more info, or better pics, of the long rifle in the ALR banner at the top of the page?  My search skills seem to be wonky today.

maybe, except for the patchbox?  I'm not sure if I remember some discussion about the p-box being added later?  it's been a while...

But that is about the timeframe that I remember the last time I saw it discussed.  I wasn't here in 2008, but it wasn't that old when I first got here, and could still check those things easily.
