Since I first saw this I thought it looked like it would fit well.

Hi.
This is my favorite for both fit and appearance.

The saw handle pistols are my pick in muzzle loaders. NO plow handle types to me are worth thinking about and some have so little useful curve that they  are ugly.

This is my pistol build. A comfortable handle is what I wanted and what I got....at least for me. If you like I can provide the measurements. This pistol has a 12" barrel, 50 cal, and was built for hunting Pennsylvania whitetail.

I had this same question when I was designing my target pistols.  I decided to see what the masters did and chose a design by James Purdey.  His grip is at a 125 degree angle to the bore which is the same as a 1911 .45.  I have made several pistols based on the Purdey design and all owners rave about how they fit in their hands.  Below is my personal percussion target pistol and I also have a companion flintlock--both .38 cal. to use the same ball as my .36 revolver.

First thing is to make it fit your hand comfortably then design the rest
