Shooting Bag construction question

Always looking to extend my knowledge, what is the most traditional method of sewing two pieces of leather together to make a larger panel as use of a front portion of a shooting bag?
Any best answer or it may depend on the era?

Cut them from a boot and include the seam.  Ain't kidding- seen it done!  Hope you're recovering well.  Sorry for no real good info.  I would sew it the same way I sew a side-seam sheath and put the seam inside.

Gary  are you trying to get more depth?  if so a gussett would help or you could wet form the leather over a form to create a bulge.

Gary,

Just sew the two or three pieces for the front pouch panel together the same way that you intend to sew the front and back panels together.  That is unless you are doing a folded fringed welt for the front and back panels. Fringe in the front panel seams would look a little funny.   Just put a welt of some kind in between the front panel parts.
