Pewter Button Mold
« on: March 24, 2023, 09:12:47 AM »
Can anyone recommend a good pewter button mold? There seems to be a nice one by Smiling Fox Forge but I know nothing about button molds so I'm not sure about it. Thank you.

Not sure what shape or size your looking for but this will make a nice plat button. Just change the shape of the mold if you wan something different.

I saw one in a collection of stuff found at a revolutionary war camp sight that was made of pipestone, or soapstone. I had some pipestone that wasn’t of great quality, so I made a button mold like the one shown, only it is pipestone. I thought it would be very fragile, but I’ve had it for years, and have made a lot of buttons with it.
