Chris Laubach still making CNC locks ?
« on: March 24, 2023, 11:55:26 AM »
Is Chris Laubach still making CNC jeager locks?
I'd like to try and make a left hand version of that lock and need something to copy.

Been collecting parts for a lefthanded Poser jeager for several years now.
Bought a damascus barrel 3-4 years ago . Got waxes from Ron Scott and had the furniture cast in sterling silver in Norway this year.
Have to carve a wax left handed side plate for casting. Been reading up on wax caring and testing technics. Have a lot to learn.
Need the spacing of the lockbolts for the side plate design.

Best regards
Rolf

Chris may be able to send you some drawings but that would be counter most business practices. We are not like most businesses though! Thankfully!

I have one in my “jewelry collection” but worry a little about lending it out precisely because there seems to be very little production and so even a small risk of loss in transit seems bigger than it probably is.

Yes, to answer the question. We are still making the 1740’s CNCed lock. There have been a lot of changes this past year. I took over my late father’s business and have merged the two businesses. That said we are also working on two different style locks (1780’s German) that we hope to have ready to show and start taking orders buy the end of June and have all three locks in full production at that time.

Thanks
Chris Laubach
