I don't have a scale, but I'm guessing it weighs around 9 pounds or so.

I admit it, I know so little about the style but it looks to be a nice hunting rifle. Can you give us some particulars, such as cal. lock barrel maker etc. and shoot results if you have got that far yet.

The barrel is 33" .54 caliber Colerane to match the original length and caliber, and the lock is a Davis lock so it took quite a bit of polishing on the internals. The stock is walnut as were the original guns produced at Harper's Ferry Virginia.starting in 1803 with the final production run ending in 1819.
I haven't shot it yet as I'm waiting to video that for my YouTube channel; Turkey Creek 1823.

Nice build TC, I love my 1803. Capt. Lewis had his men drill regularly with the 1803 and they were required to "hit the mark" at 40 rods, or 220 yards....LK

Good looking and a great job. My ancestors used Harpers Ferry rifles to make what I believe was the first breech loading rifles, the Merrill conversion. Al
