"Constitution Horn"
« on: April 06, 2023, 12:35:50 AM »
I just completed this horn (#35) that I call the "Constitution Horn". It bears the full Preamble to the US Constitution.
I was inspired to do this due to recent events.

Though I will be posting it for sale, I wanted to share these pics with y'all here.

I love it Bob! Sure does express my sentiments, and that of my ancestors who fought for our freedoms.
Thanks for sharing.

Regards,
Carl

Another beauty Bob, fine piece of functional art. I can't even write that well.

Nice work. I just looked at the link to your web page to see how you colored the horn but didn’t see it mentioned. Is it something you can share here? Thanks in advance,
TC

Beautiful work as usual Mr. Gerard. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that any techniques you’d be willing to share would be most welcome. Your scrimshaw is amazing (I love the maps) and I really like the colors you achieve.

Hi- thanks for your interest!
I have two threads in the Muzzleloading Forum that I made to demonstrate how I (1) make a powder horn~
https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/making-a-powder-horn-part-1.157162/
and (2) how I engrave one~
https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/making-a-powder-horn-scrimshaw.157267/
(I hope it's OK to post these links on this forum.
I didn't get into coloring them but probably should since a few folks have asked.
Thanks again for your interest!
