flintlock lock ID
«
on:

I bought a flintlock, modern components.
The flintlock itself has an R stamped into the bolster.
Any ideas on who made the lock?
Thanks
Jim

Photos front and back would be quite helpful.

I thought it was a Siler but don't know if it was one of Chambers.

Hi,
It is a large Siler lock. Not sure if it was made by Chambers. The R stamp is probably the assembler. I have a large Siler with a D stamped in the same place.

The lock is a large Siler lock that was assembled by us.
