For those that would like to build an early J&S Hawken style percussion rifle, but have had difficulty locating a straight hooked breech plug, Ryan at Muzzleloader Builders Supply recently purchased a number of these at an estate sale. I’m not sure if they are old stock from Cherry Corners, Pete Allen or who made them, but they appear to be accurate styles. MBS also has one Hawken pistol hooked breech plug left. Just thought I’d pass this along since there has been other discussions about the lack of early straight style hooked breeches.
