Bill, I had been wondering if you were going to rasp off all that extra wood!  Great job on milling.

I was intrigued by your philosophy of "can I do it better?"  Too often, I and others have left it as "good enough!"  Thank you for that!!!

When you put the extra time and effort into all the little details that nobody is ever going to notice, it all adds up to something that everyone will notice. When you stop at "good enough" that will also add up to something that everyone will notice.

Bill, you are becoming a better teacher with each successive edition of this build.

And NO, there is no "proper" way, there is only the way -for you - that gets the job done.

Really happy that's not me working on that piece of walnut!

Great session today - thanks.  watching carefully, as I am about to start making a replacement stock for an old (1840) upstate NY .40 rifle.  You're showing several ways to manage the curves, which I've had problems in the past.  Very thin, vs your huge 4-bore, but still got to have smooth curves all blended in.
Love your piece of walnut!

Don't matter if it is a dainty little thing or this monster, it all gets done the same.

Perfect. Not too far off having to do the same and this will be a super handy guide.
