Who's the craftsman?

Week-before-last I purchased the illustrated rifle. Friend Wayne Spears opined it is a copy of the golden age Maryland school. Bore approximately .40 caliber. But for "EDWARDS" on the lockplate, it's unmarked. Would like to know who the maker was and anything else. Thanks.
