my shimmel,  only took a lifetime to build,  I was inspired to get into black powder rifles,  by Mr C Dixon yrs ago and never considered that I would build one.
 It took 3 yrs to gather the parts:stock from the last lewisburg show suger maple
                                                 lock and small parts from Mr G Dixon
                                                 Barrel gain twist from Mr B Hoyt (great guy) and advise from all over!

Looks great. What did you use to get the reddish color? I really like the carved butt stock that looks like a butt plate. I am heading to Dixons to stock up. I never met C Dixon but I read his book and enjoyed his splashes of humor on a technical subject 🙂
