A rifle barreled looking powder measure
« on: May 24, 2023, 03:40:46 AM »
Just completed this measure.  It has been a while since I made one of these so it was no surprise that I had to dig way back into my memory bank to remember how to use all the tooling I developed to make these measures.  Don't get too excited about this measure, it was a one off to compliment a deal I made.  Just wanted to share.
David

LOL! At least your memory is good, for me I have to go back and look at a Tutorial that I wrote to see how I did something ;D
I always thought of those measures as pieces of Art, they are way over the top.

I have one and cherish it. I haven’t brought myself to use it yet, but it sits on my desk and brings me joy. Thank you David.

Nice measure, it brings to mind Don Getz's walking stick, curly maple swamped octagonal, 54" C weight dimension stained with ferric nitrate.

I also have one of his rifle barrel measures.  the barrel on mine is swamped.  Very unique.  As everyone else says, I love it.

It would be awesome if you made a little miniature rifle that it fit into for a display stand.

Those are as cool as can be!  The little "breechplug," complete with tang, is genius!
