Horn I did last month
« on: May 29, 2023, 12:28:31 AM »
I formed the base round using hot oil. It was not as hard as I thought, but messy. Stopper is ebony.
I enjoyed building it.

That's a really good looking horn and very skillfully done. Just the right amount of adornment. I like it a lot.

Really nice looking horn!  What did you use to dye it?

As for the color. Using cooking oil to form the base of the horn round.
It changed it color some.
I used fabric dye, heat gun along with a little leather dye.

Very nice work.  Thanks for sharing the photos.

Is the knob and the plug turned as one piece?  Just curious.

The base is a ebony knob into two sections of hard wood turned to fit each other snuggly.
