Miller W.G. 091117-1
« on: November 23, 2009, 03:48:37 PM »

Take a look at the discussion of the WGM rifle in the "Antique" section.  I think this is a William Miller with a straighter stock, not a Ohio gun.  There are enough features to pin this in Danville, rather than Ohio.  Others may disagree.  The engraving on the patchbox is Upper Susquehanna.  The signature can be documented to the same region.  The inlay over the cheek piece is similar to Morrison inlays.  The straight stock is a tad unusual, yet, I feel comfortable putting this in the Upper Susehanna region.
