Really nice Jim, wish mine looked like that! Then again I probably would not want to shoot it!

Looks great.
How did you finish and age it? With iron nitrate and Bone Black or iron nitrate and tannic acid?

I was privileged to see the first rifle off the production line at Jim's, and Bama ordered it on the spot so he got #1. It looks even better in person than in the photos, and I think it will be a best seller for Jim & Catherine. Jim was a great host and shared many of his secrets with us; the best is yet to come! That's all I can say, but as a business consultant and professor I was VERY impressed. I haven't seen quality control like his except work on surgery techniques and some NASA/DoD stuff that I can't talk about either.  ;)

Thank you Jim & Catherine!
Warmest regards,
Carl

It looks more 3-dimensional with stain on it! It flows nicely and should be a WINNER!

Thank you guys.  I appreciate it.  I’ll post more pictures when it’s done.  I’ll also talk about the aging process.

Love the brass!  I'm not a fan of shiny brass and my previous paltry builds have only metal furniture. I hope you explain the "how to" of getting the brass to look that good!

Really nice looking, look forward to the aging process? Did you add to or enhance the carving or is that right off the machine? It looks Great.

Not on topic, but have you ever considered putting out an iron mounted Colonial?

This was stained with iron nitrate, beat around a bit and darkened primarily with black spray paint.  A little bone black was used as well.  Many would probably be mortified to see the process!  Maybe I’ll do a video one of these days!
