I agree, but it is a separate piece of equipment. For range use GREAT and VERY nicely made.
For trail walks and most all shooting, my starter has a 1/2" deep hole to put over the rod, then
a smack with the palm, finishes seating the ball with the 'requisite' compression for "even" ballistics.
