Brown Bess markings
« on: December 02, 2009, 05:12:13 AM »
I'm getting close to finishing my 1742 Bess from TRS parts and would like to get the markings on the barrel, and since I'm only doing this one gun like this,Southern guns are the norm for me, Is there anyone who has the stamps for this and is willing to do the marks for me? Don't want to invest in 4-5 stamps I'll use once. Thanks for any help.

I'm in the same boat on a 1800 Baker rifle.

TRS can stamp the barrel for you and maybe the wood too.

With my Brown Bess, I didn't have the stamps, in fact, they were not available then.  So I just engraved the markings.  They're not perfect, but they match the gun, Ha.

Will you do a horn for me, Path? Old George was always smiling like that. I've been told he was very proud of his teeth.
