Antique Horn
« on: July 22, 2023, 03:45:43 AM »
I picked up this horn at a gun show.  It is 12 inches around the outside curve and 2.5 X 3 inches across the base.  There is a deep grove cut in the spout for the thong which I believe is a replacement.  The base is domed and hand carved with a knife with the knife marks visible in the wood.  There are also what appear to be "chatter marks" from where it was scraped with a knife when being made on several places on the horn.  I wish it could talk.

A general workhorse horn so to speak. I would keep using a good horn like yours.
The price of eggs got so darn high, I bought chickens......
