WADS for hunting

Hi I want to use bear oil for hunting lube so I want to use a wad between patch and powder so should I use CORIGATED cardboard 2 or 3 pieces glued together or ceriel box material to keep the oll from soaking toe bp.this load could sit all day.any experience? Smoke

I use card wads from TOTW, I think they are 1/8th inch thick.  .610 dia for my 62 flint rifle.

Try snug fitting wads cut from milk cartons or OJ containers. With their liquid proof coatings, they should prevent migration of bear oil from your patches.

From a practical point of view, a wad of wasps nest works awful well.
I say practical, as not much is written about using it back then.

I too use bear oil , but over the powder I use a Dura Felt wad (dry) punched out with a cheap Harbor Freight hole punch set ($15.00 )/Ed
