Woodsrunner Carving feedback sought

I take no credit for originality.  All of this was done by others. 

The buttstock is pure Kibler carving practice set, I like it, I have done several like it.  The original woodsrunner carving left me wanting more.  The thumbpiece area is what I think the original was trying to do.  I think the leaves could/should  overlap instead of being two dimensions.  Is that appropriate?

Does it work together for you?  I do not want it to be super busy or fussy.

It all looks good enough individually,  but to my eye the tang carving does not jive with the carving behind the cheek piece.  On another note, the Lancaster style carving behind the cheek might not fit well with the architecture of the buttstock.  What school is the Woodsrunner rifle from?  Just my thoughts at the moment, maybe they will help feed your thoughts.....

I agree the tang and proposed cheekpiece carving are not harmonious.
The woodsrunner and feather rifles are preschool to me, or I don’t know about subsequent Virginia rifles that appear derivative from those 2.

The carving behind the cheekpiece on the original is ugly to my untrained eye.  Any suggestions on something that harmonizes with the tang but has more coverage. 

The forearm was done that way on another woodsrunner kit, I can not find the link. 

Keep in mind I do not care about copying the original.  This is already different than the original.  I am looking for something that is plausible but also looks good. 

I found this 'early virginia" , is that a better choice on the but stock?
