Thin Lizzy
« on: August 18, 2023, 06:41:46 PM »
Unlike the rock group, this dainty rifle was just finished up. It sports a 3/4" barrel, Davis Goulcher lock, Davis triggers, an antique butplate (I like using old antique parts, it's my way of paying homage to those builders of the past), an antique capbox that I salvaged....that was a touch and go affair....and a wear plate due to coming through the bottom when drillinlog the ramrod hole. There's some nice figure in the wood and the guy l got it from was going to toss it because it was so slim and slight...what a free be!

Very nice!  I'll raise a whiskey in the jar to it!

If a rifle can be called sexy she is it. Thin, wispy, and fun to hold. Hopefully if you shoot it tomorrow it will be on this months "postal match".

I'm really not sure, I do know that it's light as a feather. I'll weigh it and let you know

You always seem to have some cool projects in the works that aren’t the run of the mill stuff most guys are showing.  I like the variety as well as the skill of your work.

Very cool John, thanks for sharing it!

Wow! That's beautiful, and I like how you re-use parts of old guns and give them new life. It just looks perfect.
