« on: August 19, 2023, 02:59:00 PM »
What information is available about a builder Robert Ashe that passed back 10 years or so?
There are 2 left handed southern mountain rifles by his hand that will be on the market in the near
future,One .32 cal one .54 cal.  I have seen pictures of them and look quite nicely made.

There was a Robert Ashe that lived in Salesville, ohio.  Salesville  is about 80 miles east of Columbus. He also went by Harold Ashe. I owned two of his rifles both percussion.  Nice rifles shot real well.  There was an article about him in MLM several years ago. Can’t remember what issue.  Hope this helps.

Thanks Redwood!!
I understand he was an excellent Southern Mtn rifle builder and lived in Ohio more than likely that’s him! THANKS!
A widow is considering selling a .32 and .54 flintlock with 36” barrels. She thinks her husband paid close to 4K each when new.

Both my rifles were colonials.  One was 45 the other 54.  Both were very accurate. Hope you get them.
