At the Log Cabin Shop today and there are some very interesting barrels to be had

Yes - for sure. Lots of barrels, in the back-ground as well.
Loos $125.00 to $200.00 for a 44" x .45 x 7/8" Large Barrel.
That would be about the same as a straight 42" x .40 x 7/8", which I thought was about perfect for offhand shooting.
