I have always bought my flints from TOW, and always order 100 at a time.  I've never had my order restricted, but that may be their policy now.

Something to nite on TOW black English flints. If you order a dozen pack, you may get some awful humpback flints. My first dozen was this way and I had to grind the hump flat on half or so.

On the second order, I asked if they would hand pick them to avoid humpback flints. They did and the second dozen I got are great.

A grinder with a GREEN Stone will take off the humps, just don't let the flint get TOO hot or it will crack.

Because they're a really super vendor and they listen to the customer and give great service.  My own experience - I'm not pimping for TOW.

Stone Wall Creek just sent me 50 pretty nice french 7/8. 
I found a few that were a bit smaller, so they went in my 3/4 bag.
They spark nice, and seem to last, and take a new edge pretty well.
I think 95 plus 15 shipping.

I have bought the last 2-3 batches from Track of the Wolf because I drive a block away from them when I go to visit my youngest daughter. They at the time let me select my own from stock so I can pic what I think will fit my locks the best.

Although Stonewall Creek is my preferred mail-order supplier, I would always go for being able to select my own flints - even at a slightly higher cost.

When receiving flints in the mail, oft times you will get one with a sharp hump on the bevel side of the flint, call it top or bottom, no matter.
A GREEN stone on a grinder will remove this to a nice flat, if quick order, or - a piece of leather or wood can be CA'd beside the hump to make
it flatter.
If grinding, make sure you don't get the flint too hot as they will crack. Dipping in water often is a GREAT idea.

I use a dab of hot-melt glue on it. As it cools, I put it in a vise to flatten it. Works great.
