USPS does this 8-10 times!
And they charge you.

Here's a pic of a USPA Special Delivery.  One of our members actually salvaged this for me.

I saw a stock broken like that once, including all the little pieces. It was a finished flint Hawken that "disintegrated". We have ideas on what might have happened however Taylor repaired it
and did an expose' on this forum on the rebuild. The repair was all but invisible and if you didn't know what had happened, you would never see a repair, it simply looked like a new rifle.

I wonder how often these broken stocks were done deliberately.

I would hazard a guess at approximately 100% of the time.

When I worked in fabrication/welding shops I loved guys who could not keep their cool. Tool throwers were my favorite.
I garnered a nice tool collection over the years.....

Sounds like Tim Crosby needs to set up an on-line anger management group.   ;D

I threw a fit like that when I was about 8 years old. My old man took that out of me quick. Walked with a bit of a limp for a day or two. Bob

II was so mad at myself that I hit a Home Run with the stock against my work bench leg. Irish temper, they say.
The work bench is just fine, thankfully.
Lesson learned the hard way.
