The annual Kentucky ALR cabin-fever, winter get-together will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Bluegrass Stockyards Regional Marketplace.

The BGS Marketplace is located at 4561 Iron Works Pike, just north of Lexington, off I-75 at Exit 120. We have one of their classrooms reserved from 9am to 4pm. The Marketplace has several retail shops, including a restaurant and bar. We met here once before, a few years ago.

All ALR members, ESPECIALLY NEW FOLKS, and anyone that's interested in the study, building, shooting, etc. of long rifles, horns, bags, knives, etc. is welcome. It isn't required, but it's encouraged and appreciated if you bring works in progress, recently completed or acquired pieces, antiques for discussion, items for sale or trade, or anything related to longrifles for show and tell.

In past years we've had from 10 to 15 attendees, but we can accommodate more, and we always have a great time, so please come and join us. We usually try to have some tutorials or demo's lined up, so if anyone has any tips or how-to's they would be willing to pass along, please let me know.

I'd like to get a rough head count, so I can know how many tables and chairs we need, so please let me know if you think you will be attending.

I’ll try to remember to make it this year, but March is a long time away, and I’m old. I’ll see if I can con Charlie into riding along. Is the restaurant going to be open, or are we doing that little BBQ place again?

Don't forget our get-together is this coming Saturday, March 16. It is always great to see old friends, but I really hope any ALR members in the Central Kentucky area that haven't attended before will come on out and join us. You will be most welcome.

It was a good time! We had 14 attendees and some great guns to play with and discuss. Some were finished guns made by the attendees, others were made by some very well known makers and others (like mine) were in various stages of completion. There was also some pretty nice knives, bags, horns and engraved pieces. And there were some good deals made on this and that. If you didn't come, well, you missed out, but there's always next year.
