Marking Gauge

I admit it…I have a problem. I CANNOT throw away scraps of figured wood…they always get tossed into a large “I’ll find a use for that someday” tote.  :o

Recently, I’ve gotten more interested in hand-tool woodworking/joinery, and have made a few gadgets this winter. The first one is a marking gauge made of curly maple.  The sliding pin lock is a scrap of English walnut from a gunstock blank.  Here are a few pics…this is in no way a proper tutorial, I’d refer you to Paul Sellers on YouTube for that.

Really nice, very handy, and a great way to use up scrap. If you run short Ive got a lot here…
