Wanted: Pedersoli 12 ga sxs tumbler
« on: March 08, 2024, 06:49:38 PM »
I have an early 70's Pedersoli 12 ga sxs whose left lock tumbler has broken off--pic (hopefully) attached.  Can anyone steer me to the appropriate replacement tumbler?  up to $50
Thanks!

Go to the head of the stream in Italy.
Pedersoli will probably have the part, or one that will work. Find your model number, look up the part number for your tumbler. I have bought parts from Ped that I had to cross check the P/N from different model guns This can be done using their P/Ns for different models.

Most of their parts now, are CNC machined, and are very good quality.
It takes about 3-4 weeks to get parts shipped direct from Italy, cause they have to go thru customs, and all. Be prepared to spend a little time on Peds sight checking things.

Did the tumbler break or was it the stirrup?

Looks like the hammer's been stopping in the half cock notch which it now bend down.  I'd try to repair the tumbler by heating the half cock notch area red and returning it to it's proper position, then tuning the lock so it works.  The full cock notch might be worn enough to make it not hold well at full bent.  The trigger pull now being too light allows the sear to disengage from the notch, and stops in the exaggerated half cock notch every time, damaging it more and more.

Thanks for the replies.  The problem is that the half cock notch is broken off leaving no purchase for the sear to hold.  I've ordered from VTI and Dixie but neither would fit.  Both are too "thin" and aren't even close.  My gun is from the early 70s and I'm wondering if they made a design change sometime after that.  I can use the lock by resting the hammer on the nipple, but was hoping to find a proper replacement.  May try to build the tumbler up and reshape if all else fails.
