Richard Wilson Trade Gun
« on: March 25, 2024, 05:46:41 PM »
Finished another early Richard Wilson trade gun. Stocked in black walnut with a custom Rice 20 gauge trade gun barrel. The trigger guard and buttplate are from Rifle Shoppe but engraved by Mike Brooks. I made the ramrod thimbles from sheet brass as per the originals. The decoration is not copied from a specific gun but inspired by several originals. Constructive criticism always welcome.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?
