Tiny build
« on: May 09, 2024, 06:22:31 PM »
This is a small rifle that I made for my father, mabey thirty years ago, The overall length is 28" and the lock is 2-1/2 inches long. I forged the barrel down from a 3/4" water pipe and bored it  to 1/8" The stock is from a "swamp" maple and all of the peices were made in my shop.

That is a short rifle. I happen to have a Winchester 1894 in 30-30 that has a 16.1" barrel and a 15" LOP. Overall it's about 35" long. I call it my concealed carry rifle.

Clint

It is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and the reforging of the barrel is special.
Old gunmakers also often made a small rifle as prestige.

That’s pretty amazing work especially the patch box and lock.
