Forget the Hawken, start on a Manton! 😁
The first word at the top of the page is “American “ let the English get their own rifle builder! A Hawken was planned and should be next.
The english were building rifles long before the americans were. I owned one that was  made in the 1680's.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

OH MY! There are a lot of folks wanting English guns here. Brown Bess, smooth bores and English Sporting Rifles. Have a nice         day.  ;)

I would say do a real mountain man’s rifle next. The J Henry.

I would chose a flint Henry over a Hawken my self but Mr. Kibler has to sell what he makes and a Hawken might be a better seller, especially for beginners. But I also think if a shooter shot a Manton side by side with a Hawken there would be many converting to Flint. JMHO having shot many of both styles over the last 50+ years.

Katherine will be working on it more this weekend. Maybe sometime early next week.  Should be a good video.  Thanks for the interest.
