32 cal Iron Mounted Southern Rifle

Here are some pictures of the finished rifle that I have been working on for the last few weeks. I built this rifle for a good fried of mine who passed away last year. His son wanted me to finish the rifle, so here it is. It's a simple little rifle made up from the parts I was given. It shoots very well and I am pleased with the way it handles and functions.

Rice 32 caliber "A" weight barrel, LC Rice lock, small Davis triggers, not sure who made the butt plate, guard and thimbles, Pecatonica stock

Thanks for the comments on the rifle. I test fired it yesterday and it functioned very well and was on target so now its off to Indiana tomorrow. Here's a link to the test firing if you would like to see it go off. ;D

One of the nice things about building these Southern gals is working our own individual Extra sumpin into the gun,somewhere.
As sweet as a cup of Kudzu tea.
Its a pretty good smoke,too.
Very mellow.

I am happy to say that this little rifle was delivered and well received by it's new owner. Always nice to see the smile that erupts when you hand them their rifle.

I would have had an ear to ear grin if it was my rifle. Sure is sweet and my favorite style. I'm one who loves plain rifles without a lot of carving to the stock and iron mounted is a pluse in my book.

I had the pleasure to shoot with Jim at Friendship this last weekend. He showed me this great little rifle. I assure you that the photos do not do it justice.
